Briefing note on SPACs

CMU | 10 May 21

The FESE briefing note on Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs) explains what SPACs are, how they are used on EU capital markets, and applicable investor protection measures.

SPACs are acquisition vehicles that raise capital on public markets to later acquire operating companies. Being acquired by a SPAC can be an alternative to a traditional IPO for a company contemplating a public listing.
